Fellow blogger, photographer, and Prescott area friend Tombo often photographs food he and his significant other prepared. I find this interesting, so being on vacation (yes!!) this week I have time to experiment (why does this sound better than ‘play’?). Last night I cooked some steaks on the grill. Here’s my first food photo.
Steaks Cooking on Grill
We took a shooting class on Saturday from Insight Firearms Training. We have taken several advanced classes from them and they do a good job. Recommended. Following are a few images I got with my Nikon CoolPix point and shoot. Thanks to Lightroom’s local adjustment brush I was able to bring out details from downrange.

Here are some photos I got on Wednesday night at the Prescott, AZ courthouse. It is decorated for Christmas. I only did a minimal amount of editing on these, I slightly altered the white balance and exposure using Lightroom. Plus, there’s more images on Flickr including larger versions of these.

Green Grasshopper
This late season visitor appeared while I was refilling the humming bird feeders. It was early in the morning, when the cold blooded ones move slowly. I got right up to him and snapped this. The background colors are blue sky and the overhang of my garage, quite out of focus and interesting. Click on the image for a larger view.
