Foreigners puzzled over US gun ownership

This is news?!? I’d like to file this under WTF, but too much of what I read in the main stream media would be in this category.

Foreigners may be surprised we Americans like our firearms. That’s fine, each to their own. That’s why there are separate countries - and why maintaining our sovereignty is critical to keeping our rights.

More guns = less crime. Simple.

Thankfully the boy’s uncle was armed and killed the lion. Another example of an armed citizen defending an innocent person from a violent threat.

Ruger LCP

Michael Bane has a short video on Ruger’s new LCP pocket pistol. Not too much in the video, but worth watching if you like tiny, concealable weapons. I sure do :-) In fact, I’m coming to the belief that this class of weapon is more important than standard service pistols. Because of my size and the nature of women’s clothing I can’t conceal a Glock 23, full or commander size 1911, or S&W 686 real well unless I wear a sweatshirt. This is OK on the weekends during the winter, but hardly consistent with the “carry always” philosophy. BTW Gary has no trouble concealing full size handguns. Open carry is fine when hiking out in the boonies but not my thing for daily life.

More on the LCP: Much of it (well, the metal parts anyway) is made at the Ruger plant in Prescott, AZ. We are friends with one of the design engineers who worked on the LCP - he’s a bright boy and a dedicated shooter.  I’ve not had a chance to try one of these yet. Gary, I, and good friend G.H. (who has the same concealment issues I do) have each preordered a LCP. I’ll write more after I’ve shot it.
