I’ve found a couple of interesting forums that discuss competitive shooting. I have posted an invite for people to try out ActionShootingScores.com  on these.

IDPA forum look in the Match Chat area.

Brian Enos’ forum look in Match Management -> Operations -> Match Scoring

If you know of any more forums like this, or blogs on competitive shooting, please let me know.  My email address is dagnygromer(AT)gmail(DOT)com, or go to  this contact page.

Sex Offender in my neighborhood

We got a letter from the city police department that a registered sex offender is now living in our neighborhood. He lives 2 streets away from us. I’m more concerned about the yet-to-be-caught criminals than one who is known and complied with registering his whereabouts.

When I take my nightly walk with the dogs, I will be carrying a .45 instead of the .38 I usually carry.

This dog, photographed at the Prescott, AZ dog park by Gary Gromer on 2/17/2007, is totally focused on catching the tennis ball. Here’s some more photos from the dog park.

Why We Love Dogs

A wonderful post from Slate on why we love dogs. The idea here is dogs manipulate us using their keen sense of human body language  and social interactions to inject themselves into our lives.

Quoting from the post: Pets manipulate the same instincts and responses that have evolved to facilitate human relationships, “primarily (but not exclusively) those between parent and child.”

I’m a dog person. I enjoy being manipulated by my dogs 🙂

Global Warming is a Hoax

I have long believed that the current global warming super meme is a collectivist hoax, designed to stamped  stampede the uneducated majority into a panic and thereby empower leftist elites to the detriment of individual rights. These individual rights, especially private property, are the basis of civilization (or what’s left of civilization).

There’s an article in the UK Times Online debunking much of the bad science behind the global warming hoax. It’s trust is that solar activity, not carbon dioxide, is the main driver of climate change. It points to and acutal experiment showing the relationship of cosmic rays to cloud formation. Well worth the read.

And what of the heavy snows in the US mid-west and northeast this week? The silence from the global warming jihadis is defenening.
