I know there are folks who work on Labor Day. Thankfully Gary and I both had the day off. Then again, there’s a day off and a day off.
I did 2 loads of laundry, walked the dogs (Suzie gets the usual long walk, Annie does a short walk due to her arthritis), cleaned up Suzie’s den area (bottom of a closet where she hides from the Thunderstorm Monster and sometimes sleeps), cooked a BBQ meal (ribs, yams, corn on the cob) for the family, kept chaos from overtaking the household, and did my homework. Gary and I are taking a Photoshop class at Yavapai College (Art 137).
Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer in northern climes. Whomever started this tradition did not live in the south or southwest! When I lived in Phoenix summer ended between Halloween and Thanksgiving, depending on the ferocity of the heat. Here in Prescott, summer ends at a more reasonable date. This weekend I felt a cool breeze in the early morning and in the evening.
