inA Timeline of Today’s Black Friday Mayhem – National – The Atlantic Wire.
I’m laughing so hard my eyes are tearing up. But it’s not funny, it’s sad and it’s sick.
First fight at Walmart 12:01 am in NY. It took until 1:13 am for the first gunfire to erupt, in Myrtle Beach. Amazing restraint and peacefulness this year I guess.
We did no go to Walmart, or any big box store to fight or to shoot or be shot to save a dollar on crappy Chinese imports. I walked the dogs, later I went to a local video rental shop and got Atlas Shrugged then to a grocery store for some dairy and produce items. I did buy a few items on sale that were not on my list. Gary did not even leave our property today. Guess we are just not keeping up with the trends in our society, or what’s left of it.

Occupy Plymouth Colony: How A Failed Commune Led To Thanksgiving – Forbes.
A lesson not taught in government schools, the original Plymouth Rock colony was a “socialist paradise”. Oops, this paradise almost staved it’s people. Realizing the error, the colony switched to a private property/free market organization which produced enough food for all. Now that is something to be Thankful for!
Are we modern Americans smart enough to learn from our own history?

Gary and I had dinner with Anne, Bill, Kathy, and Betty. Joe and Laurie were not able to drive up from Phoenix. We went to JB’s Restaurant in Prescott. Not a traditional cook the turkey and trimmings at home Thanksgiving. We’ve had Thanksgiving there for a few years now, we like the Thanksgiving buffet they have. The place was quite crowded so others must agree with us.
We enjoyed the company and the food. It was a nice Thanksgiving.

On Thanksgiving Day 2011 we had real November weather in Prescott, Az. Dark, deep gray sky. Wind had taken down most of the leaves earlier, and now the trees look ready for winter.
I grew up in the Bronx and this is the weather I remember for Thanksgiving.
