Rat terrier Stacy walks into the room addition through the opening that will become the back door. Stacy is a bit high-strung and skittish, we thought she would be disturbed by the construction activity. This was not the case, she did very well even when it was noisy.
Gary is home most of the time when construction is being done. He retired in February, and yes this is causing me to look forward to my retirement in a couple of years. The routine he developed is to let the dogs out when the construction crew arrives to greet them. This reduces the barking significantly. They still bark when the worker get tools or supplies from their truck and walk back towards the house, but they don’t bark all day. Works for everyone.
