Is this another indicator of the decline of industrial civilization? Weather is weather, it gets hot in the summer. Very hot here in Prescott, Az lately. So the heat is just noise. The signal, the important information here, is the poor robustness of the electrical power grid. Without reliable electricity, modern industrial society cannot exist. Yes, a negative thought for a hot July day.

The power grid has had serious problems and shortcomings for well over a decade. Lack of investment in infrastructure and increased demand have strained the system. The question is has the weather pattern changed or is this a blip ? Last winter was short and spring was early, very early now this heat wave. Glad I am not back there enduring the misery.
