I was in a local supermarket this afternoon and the Thanksgiving Madness is beginning. A little early perhaps, but people must be doing their holiday food shopping this weekend. All seemed more on edge than on a normal Friday, moving faster and the store was more crowded. Nothing like a Wal-Mart on black Friday – though I have never been in a Wal-Mart on that day. My self-preservation instinct is way too strong.
We are planning to be home Thanksgiving. Gary’s sister who lives in the Phoenix area is coming here with her son. My step son may be here for a few days as well, his girlfriend is going to be in rehab. And you will not be seeing me at a shopping mall or at a Wal-Mart at any time over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The whole holiday business is madness good for retail sales bad for your tranquillity. There have been years I wanted to get on a plane and go somewhere there is no christmas madness. I hear there are fewer and fewer places to hide from the insaneness of the holidays.

I try to stay home as much as possible, and void overdosing on media. Spend time with friends and family.
