I was in a local supermarket this afternoon and the Thanksgiving Madness is beginning. A little early perhaps, but people must be doing their holiday food shopping this weekend. All seemed more on edge than on a normal Friday, moving faster and the store was more crowded. Nothing like a Wal-Mart on black Friday – though I have never been in a Wal-Mart on that day. My self-preservation instinct is way too strong.

We are planning to be home Thanksgiving. Gary’s sister who lives in the Phoenix area is coming here with her son. My step son may be here for a few days as well, his girlfriend is going to be in rehab. And you will not be seeing me at a shopping mall or at a Wal-Mart at any time over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Pot Roast

I made a pot roast in my Presto pressure cooker for dinner tonight. A good meal for a chilly night. I cook the 3 pound roast with 2 sweet onions for 1 hour, and I steamed carrots and red potatoes to go with it.

Winter introduced itself last night to Prescott, Az (11/10/2012)
Temperature got down to 23 degrees. OK, it is not the upper midwest nor upstate NY, but it’s wintery for us. I like it! And the black cat on the roof does not seem to mind the cold.
