This is Sandy, a poodle mix who belongs to the mom of a friend.  She was here to be photographed by Gary, though I took this one on our patio. Gary got some nice studio type photos of her. Sandy has an expressive face, as you can see. She’s not very good around other dogs and snapped at our lab Annie a few times. I had to keep our dogs in the house while we were working with Sandy in the studio.

Doggie Acupuncture

Lacy, one of our rat terriers, had been ill and her vet was not sure what the problem was. So we tried a holistic veterinarian who was recommended to us by friends. Harmony Veterinary Care in Prescott, Az. Dr. Metcalf adjusted Lacy’s back, released tension in her neck, and did acupuncture. Here’s 2 photos of Lacy with acupuncture needles.

Lacy seemed more relaxed after the treatment. She liked the spinal adjustment and manipulation, not the acupuncture but she tolerated it.

The Daily Courier had an article on photographers who volunteer at the Yavapai Humane Society in Prescott, Az where they photograph pets looking for homes.  My husband Gary is one of these volunteers, he photographs dogs at YHS one afternoon each week.

One of the best events of the Christmas season in Prescott, Az is this Friday 12/7/2012 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The Acker Night Music Festival. Groups of musicians perform in various downtown businesses – there’s a list at the link. I really enjoy this festival. If you’re in the area, give it a try.
