Why is it that places with restrictive gun control have high violent crime?  In the linked article, New York City and Chicago are reported to have record numbers of people shot so far this year.

But how can that be? They have restrictive gun control. Guns are illegal there. Could it be that this does not prevent or reduce violent crime?? That violent felons don’t obey laws?
