Gary has been studying studio photography (big strobes, light modifiers, etc) and Photoshop for years. And he loves dogs. Combine these two and the result is images like this. Looks 3D, doesn’t it?

Here’s a poem from one of my favorite authors, Jon Katz, about his Divine Old Dog http://www.bedlamfarm.com/2014/02/06/the-divine-old-dog-the-angels-know-her-well/

As I read it I thought of our Annie who passed away last month at age 17. Bittersweet. We miss Annie every day, on every walk, at each feeding time. Our other dogs, her pack mates, don’t seem to mourn her passing as we humans do. Perhaps their way is different, or maybe they just live in the present moment. A mystery, for sure.
