A large and growing wildfire is burning between Sedona and Flagstaff Az. Called the slide fire after the slide rock park in Sedona, it is almost 1000 acres. This photo is the smoke plume visible from Prescott.

When a holiday is on the near horizon, a sign like this appears on the doors to county buildings. In my 15 years here I have never seen these signs being up up. Maybe some kind of holiday elf or spirit does it.
Regardless of who puts up these signs, they announce a day off. Wonderful.
