A lightning strike during and Az Monsoon storm. Shot from the parking lot of Bucky’s casino in Prescott, Az. A thunderstorm cell is visible just to the right of Granite Mountain, and rain can be seen falling on the far right.
I have a lightning sensor that triggers my camera. It takes many shots without visible lightning, but it does get the good ones as long as the camera is facing the direction of the strike.

I love this! I saw all the rain go by, but not a drop at our house.
What’s the key to taking lightning photos? Do you have a special sensor on the camera, or just patience and timing?

I think I have a bit more invested. That photo was on the channel 12 news, I have the broadcast on my dvr.
