I have bad memories of the terrible Phoenix summers. It’s been 16 years since I moved from there, and I do not miss it.

The high temperature at Phoenix Sky Harbor spiked to 117 degrees Friday afternoon. This breaks the old record high for the day set back in 2012, when the temperature soared to 113 degrees. This also makes for the warmest high temperature recorded so far this year.

In fact, this is the warmest temperature recorded since 2013 when the temperature soared to 119 degrees on June 29.

But the records do not stop with the high temperature.

The low temperature Friday morning in Phoenix only dropped to 93 degrees. The record warm low temperature for this day is 89 degrees set back in 2002.
