summer

Summer has arrived in Prescott, Az. 96, 99, 94 degrees is hot. Not Phoenix hot, but too hot for me.

We have been using our air conditioner for the past couple of days. Normally we use the evaporative cooler this time of year, the dry summer. The evap is not working, a service technician was here yesterday but he did not have all the parts required. Maybe today? Since we have the A/C it’s not a big deal.

We have 2 kinds of summer in Arizona, dry and wet. In dry summer, the humidity is low and so evaporative coolers work well, and the cost to run these is much less than A/C. Around the start of July wet summer begins with the monsoon season. Humidity is up, evaps stop being effective, so we have to switch to A/C.
