First good photo of a Swainson’s hawk for 2017. We have a nesting pair in Prescott, Az near the Prescott High School. This bird is atop the scoreboard of the baseball field.

Yesterday I was handling dogs for adoption photos at the Yavapai Humane Society. One was Curtis, a 4 month old shepard mix puppy. A very active puppy!

I was out looking for photos of the breeding pair of Swainson’s hawks that nest near our home. A fire truck and then an ambulance came racing past, lights flashing and sirens screaming on Scott Drive. This happens several time each day on average. There are multiple retirement developments, assisted livings, and nursing homes in the immediate area.
