For those who use an iPhone or iPad, Apple has an update to 16.2 that has a very good data encryption method were Apple DOES NOT have your encryption keys!!
I just now updated my phone.
The new encryption must be turned on manually after update. It is hidden in Settings, apple id iCloud media & purchases menu tree.
