Place corned beef, spice packet that came with it if you have one, sweet onion cut in half, several garlic cloves in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer. Cook for 50 minutes per pound of meat.20 minutes before time is up, add a cabbage cut into quarter.
I know St. Patrick’s Day is Friday 3/17/2012, but I decide to make corned beef and cabbage tonight (Thursday).
A nice one pot meal.
Food photography is an art that I’m not a practitioner of. But I give it a shot once in a while. This photo came out pretty good, the food looks appealing and there is quite a bit of detail in the corned beef. Taken with a Nikon D80 using on camera flash, Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8 – 4 lens.
