macOS Sierra 10.12.xx with Adobe CC WARNING!!!

Updating Camera Raw BROKE my Photoshop CC!! I could no longer load Nikon .NEF files into Photoshop. I got a file type not recognized error. I could read .TIF files.
The CC updater has a bug. It offers an update of camera raw that does not work on macOS 10.12.xx Sierra

If this happened to you, save the 3 hours I wasted by going to url https://helpx.adobe.com/…/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.h… and downloading the manual installer for CameraRaw_11_4_1_mac.zip Run this installer after closing all Adobe apps and it will fix the file type error.

I have old hardware and have had grief with High Sierra

Photoshop challenge: Open cat Samson’s eyes

Gary gave me a Photoshop challenge: Open cat Samson’s eyes.

I photographed cat Samson at the Yavapai Humane Society today. He was very nervous and would not come out of his kennel, so I shot him where he was. He would not open his eyes. He will be rephotographed when he is feeling less stressed.

Gary challenged me to open Samson’s eyes with Photoshop. This is just an exercise, we would not use a doctored image for an adoption photo.

Jasmine and Stella “Magazine Cover” Dogs

Gary used photos of Jasmine (black) and Stella (white) to create this pseudo magazine cover in Photoshop. Pseudo sounds much better than fake, doesn’t it?

Stella did a great job of posing in the studio. I bounced a tennis ball, her eyes followed it. Jasmine looked at the ball from time to time but was disinterested more than not. The trick is to take a lot of photos to get a few with the look or expression you want.

As for me, I don’t like versions of OS’s that end in .0   So I plan to wait a few weeks and let other, more adventurous souls find the bugs and glitches.
