Today at the Yavapai Humane Society I photographed 2 senior cats, ages 10 and 15, who are seeking homes. I spent some time with Jinx (male, 10 years) and sat on the floor with him. We became friends! Today I took cat adoption photos at the Yavapai Humane Society in Prescott, AZ. Once in a while we get a cat that is very shy or frightened and presents a challenge to get a good photo. The adoption photos serve to generate interest in an animal from potential adopters and is a first step in “selling a used cat”. The cat’s personality, of course, is what makes the adoption.

Cat Trixie hid under a towel. Not a good look for an adoption photo.

After sitting with Trixie for a bit, I was able to get him out from under the towel for some photos. Surprisingly, he like being touched.
