A rare moment of sharing between Betty (left) and Stacy. They are on a dog heater (green object) which is like a heating pad. In the evening this is a highly coveted spot, and sharing does not happen often. On this occasion, Betty was on the heater and Stacy jumped up. When Betty started to growl, I moved her to one side and petted her head while Stacy settled in. Then all was peaceful.
Betty dislikes the cold, we got an insulated coat for her this year and it seems to help. When she is on the heater, only her head is exposed. Of course this is indoors and the temperature is in the mid 60’s, so cold is relative. She is not outdoors where it got down into the low teens last night in Prescott.
A late autumn storm in Prescott, Az. Clouds, rain, cold – winter is saying “hello”. Taken with an iPhone while walking the dogs near the Prescott High School, looking south. Not visible in this photo, there was a little snow on some of the high peaks south of town.
When I lived in NY much of the autumn and winter looked like this.
