Today there are floods in north Phoenix. I-17, loop 303,  SR74 have closures. Black Canyon City, north of Phoenix, had 4.5 inches of rain – which is about a half a year’s worth – today. All this drained downhill to the north Phoenix area. Here’s a link:  http://www.azfamily.com/news/Flooding-closes-portion-of-I-17-Carefree-Highway-in-N-Phoenix-271870741.html I know I have some readers who are former Phoenix area residents.

We are having very heavy rains in Prescott as well. More to come …

A little sunshine this morning. The photo, taken with my phone, is sunlight on a cubicle wall. My crappy cubicle was flooded again when I got to work this morning. I work in a new building which was finished in October 2012. Quality materials and workmanship … low quality of both. I am growing weary of this third rate garbage.

Hundreds evacuated near the Grand Canyon after flooding via kwout

I hope these folks are OK. Have you noticed that we no longer see the formerly obligatory phrase “but there’s still a drought” in news stories that mention rain? Looks like the monsoon trumped the drought.
