Today would have been my Mom’s birthday, she would be 88. She past way in 2013. I find that I miss her quite a bit even though I didn’t get along with her all that well. Most Sunday evenings I would call her in Florida. Sometimes on a Sunday I think “Did I call Mom today?” still.
I’m not a fan of “listicles”, but this one hits close to home for me. It lists some positive things about being in a relationship where both people have common interest. Gary and I have quite a few common interests, and much of the linked page feels familiar.
It’s now me, Gary, and the dog pack living in our house. Yea!!
This year we had two long term house guests. Step-son Taylor spent the summer months here, now he is in Phoenix. A friend, I’ll refer to her as J, broke up with her husband and needed a place to stay for a “few weeks”, which turned into a few months. J left this morning.
We are fine with helping out family and friends when we can, but our house is on the small side and is not set up for long tern guests. We decided that if/when we do this in the future, we will set an exit date with the guest before they arrive. We might move that date, but stays like this will not be opened ended.
Wishing all my readers Happy New Year!
I’m not into New Year’s resolutions.
If When I realize there’s a problem, I try to deal with it right away or at least soon. Thinking “I’ll stop/start X on New Years Day” seems bizarre – especially if it’s around January 5th. If I don’t want to deal with an issue then I try to just let it go.
I plan to be happy, peaceful, and healthy this year. Which are the major life themes I’ve prioritized for quite a few years.
We met friend Mark at the Prescott dog park today. His fancy Mercedes SUV got a flat tire (after Mark hit a curb 😦 ). It’s only flat on the bottom. Fortunately he had a spare tire with air pressure in it.
Life happens, even if you drive a Mercedes.
The dogs enjoyed the park and did not seem the least bit upset over the flat tire.
