An unkindness of ravens – yes, that what a group of ravens is called. Why, I cannot say.

I was out on my morning dog walk and saw this unkindness of ravens swirling around in an updraft. This was shot with my iPhone so it’s not the best image, but interesting anyway.

Swainson’s Hawk vs Raven Aerial Combat

The Swainson’s hawks that nest near our home in Prescott, Az have returned from their winter migration to Argentina. I first saw them on Monday, right after Easter. A symbol of spring to me. Today I had my camera and shot some photos of one of the hawks in aerial combat with a raven. Raven often harass hawks. These photos are not great as the birds where pretty far from me.
