A scene of both tragedy and heroism unfolded in Texas on Wednesday when cops say a man walked into a sports bar and fatally shot an employee.
But before the suspect could get away, an armed patron of Arlington’s Zona Caliente Sports Bar reportedly drew his own weapon and opened fire on the gunman, killing him.
Cops did not clarify whether a third person who was also injured was a customer or employee of the bar. The person was reportedly injured by shattered glass.
What cops have said, however, is that the quick draw customer may have saved lives.
“[He] prevented further loss of life,” a spokesman for the Arlington Police Department told Dallas News.
Police on Thursday reportedly identified the suspect as 48-year-old James Jones of Grand Prairie.
The customer, who cops say had a licensed to carry a concealed weapon, had been dining with his wife when he saw the initial shooting.
An unnamed person inside a Nashville (TN) sneaker shop went John Wick on three armed robbers last after they made the mistake of charging into the store with guns blazing.
None of the customers or staff of the store were injured in the exchange of gunfire. One of the three robbers was found critically injured outside the back door of the shop by police, and died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The other two suspects arrived at TriStar Centennial Medical Center leaking from fresh holes …
There was a first in Iceland: “Police in Iceland have shot dead a gunman – the first time armed police have killed someone in the country.” Police there are normally NOT armed. (same link) And Icelanders are armed, 90K guns owned by 300K people (same link).

Could there be a different, or additional answer? Steve Sailer, one of my favorite alt-right writers, thinks the answer is that it is full of Islanders and has almost no “diversity”.
I’ll go with all of the above.

Much of what he says makes sense to me, here’s a snippet. The whole article is worth reading.
In a de-Christianized America where no higher law exists, killing is a commonplace occurrence, and the popular culture is polluted by raw sex and violence, what answer does society give to the Harper-Mercers who are willing to kill in large numbers to become famous?
We are not the rules-based society we once were. We have junked the Christian code, embraced absolute social freedom, and dispensed with the moral sanctions.
Yet instead of the Great Society of liberalism’s promise, we seem to be approaching a society that is sick unto death.
